01 Day – ARRIVE AUCKLAND
Arrive Auckland International Airport, Transfer from airport to Hotel. Check in to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for Optional activities.
02 Day – AUCKLAND
Breakfast at hotel and today we will visit Auckland city. Pick you up from your accommodation in Auckland central for your transfer to the Sky City Coach Terminal, 102 Hobson Street, Auckland, the departure point of your tour. At 9:45am join your coach to commence a half day tour introducing you to the sights of Auckland. Travel through the city centre, along Karangahape Road with its chequered past and electric vibe, past fashionable Ponsonby and over the Auckland Harbour bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland's famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain. The Domain is the city's oldest park and, at 75 hectares, one of its largest. Developed around an extinct volcano, it features tropical gardens, duck ponds and public art, and is also home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. After visiting the Domain, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a brief morning tea stop (own expense). The historic buildings of Parnell have been transformed into a trendy shopping area featuring a range of boutiques, craft and specialty stores. Rest of the day is at leisure . over night at hotel.
03 Day – Auckland – Waitomo - Rotorua
Cooked Breakfast. Pick you up from your accommodation in Auckland central for your transfer to the departure point of your tour. A full day tour to Rotorua via Waitomo. Depart Auckland and travel through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions. Your experienced local driver guide will provide commentary and point out highlights along the way, such as Rangiriri, where in 1863 a major battle was fought between colonial forces and those loyal to the Maori King. On arrival in the small town of Waitomo enjoy a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, a series of limestone caves formed over 30 million years ago. Learn all about stalactites, stalagmites and other limestone formations as you walk through the caverns, and finish the tour with a silent boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto - illuminated by thousands of tiny glowworms. Your journey to Rotorua continues, passing through the beautiful Fitzgerald Glade where trees arch over the road to form a tunnel of natural greenery. Rest of the day is at leisure . over night at hotel.
04 Day – ROTORUA
Cooked breakfast. Pick you up from your accommodation for your tour to Rotorua. Join your coach to commence a Rotorua Sights half day morning tour. Experience Te Puia, a place of Maori culture and a thermal wonderland of impressive geysers and boiling mud pools before exploring Rainbow Springs Nature Park, which showcases native flora and fauna as well as the New Zealand Kiwi. Then see NZ's agricultural industry in action with a sheep shearing display and sheep dog trials at The Agrodome. Drop off at your hotel for an overnight stay.
05 Day – Rotorua – Christchurch
Cooked breakfast. Transfer from hotel to Auckland Airport and board your flight to Christchurch. Arrival Christchurch International Airport. Pick-up from airport to hotel. Day is at free. Overnight at hotel.
06 Day – Christchurch – Franz Josef Glacier
Cooked breakfast. Explore Christchurch city tour. Pick you up from your hotel for your transfer to the departure point of your tour, join your coach to commence a half day Discover Christchurch - Morning Tour. The trip begins by covering the central city highlights including the botanical gardens, Museum and Art Centre, the Avon river, Bridge of Remembrance, the city's new pop up container mall and many other CBD highlights. On leaving the inner city, the tour travels to Mona Vale an historic homestead and gardens. Up to the Sign of the Takahe, an historic building providing spectacular views over the city, Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps, then over the Port Hills to the Port of Lyttleton, through the harbour tunnel to the seaside suburb of Sumner and cave rock before returning to the central hotel. Check out and transfer from Christchurch to the historic West Coast of the South-Island. Continue south to the stunning Twin glaciers of Fox or Franz Josef Glacier.
07 Day – Franz Josef Glacier - Queenstown
Cooked breakfast. Free day to relax or explore this stunning region of New Zealand.
Join your Franz Josef Glacier Guides guide at 63 Cron Street, Franz Josef to commence a Glacier Valley Tour. This journey to the glacier is the perfect opportunity to learn the role of the Franz Josef Glacier in shaping this remarkable landscape. After a short walk through the regenerating rainforest, the trip continues along the glacier valley as the guide explains the unique features of the glacier and its surroundings. Near the terminal face, after a brief climb you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the glacier's rapidly changing terminal face. Tour concludes approximately 3 hours after commencement, back at 63 Cron Street, Franz Josef. Check out and travel south through scenic Haast Pass to arrive at "alpine resort" of Queenstown in the afternoon. Check-in to your hotel. At leisure.
08 Day – Queenstown
Cooked breakfast. Queenstown Tour: Pick you up from your accommodation for your transfer to the departure point of your tour. At 9:30am join your coach to commence a half day Queenstown Highlights tour. Start with a visit to Queenstown Hill, with its spectacular bird's eye views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkable mountain range. Next, head out to the AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge to watch intrepid jumpers from the viewing deck. This is followed by Gibbston Valley Winery, where you will enjoy a selection of three wines produced on-site, along with the region's only cheesery. The Lord of the Rings film sites are always a highlight - be transported to Middle Earth at the Kawarau Gorge, film location for the Pillars of the Kings. Finally, spend some time in the small village of Arrowtown and discover its golden history and colonial architecture. Highlights include the Lakes District Museum and the Chinese Miners' Settlement. Tour concludes back in Queenstown with accommodation at drop off for an overnight stay.
09 Day – Queenstown
Cooked breakfast. Visit Milford Sound Cruise. Come and visit one of the most spectacular parts of our beautiful country, the Fiordland National Park. Join us aboard the Milford Adventurer and enjoy this “must do” New Zealand experience. You’ll remember this as one of your best day trips in New Zealand! When you take a boat trip with Cruise Milford, you’ll be getting close to New Zealand fur seals basking on the rocks, massive rock faces rising for hundreds of metres out of the sea and see waterfalls cascade from ancient rainforest high in the mountains. With Cruise Milford, you’ll be travelling on smaller boats, which are less crowded and where our local crew offer a much more informative and personal tour of Milford Sound.
